Why aren't there horse lanes in my City for commuters?

-The bike lanes sit empty, mass transit is 1/2 full and congestion for the rest. I have a solution for everyone. HORSES! How can I put pressure on government to support this time tested form of transporation to and from the office?Did you just use horses and city in the same sentance? lol I love the idea and as a fellow athiest I would love to agree with you but can you even imagine what a modern city would smell like with 20,000 horses in a small area? Not to mention feeding and storing them.Roads were originally built for bicycles, and from that time (the 1890s) until today, roads still work perfectly well for all vehicles, including bicycles and horses. There never has been a need to separate out certain types of traffic. If people would just use the road the way it's supposed to be used, and give way to the vehicle who has the right of way, we wouldn't need all those stupid and costly markings, lanes and paths.



The problem is, motor vehicle drivers tend to think they are the only people with a right to the road. The reality is, they're the only ones who DON'T. That's why they are required to be licensed.
Originally cars were thought to be much cleaner than horses. You go around the city cleaning up hundreds or even thousands of piles of horseshit.
So who's going to clean up the endless piles of horse s***
I saw horse parking only beside the handicapped spot at the Walmart in Ogdensburg NY. It was for the Amish
