Is it worth commuting?

-I am dorming this semester at college and despise it. I cannot stand it anymore. I have been doing clubs, social events, and hanging out with my floor mates. The problem is that I have no one I am close to. I know I do not want to stay, that much is certain. I decided I am going to commute. The problem is that it may be brutal. Here is the times I would get home:

Monday: Leave: 8:10 am arrive home 5:40 pm

Tuesday and Thursday: 8:10 am arrive home 5:07 pm

Wednesday: 8:10 am and arrive home 10 pm

Thursday: 8:10 am and arrive home 4: 14 pm

Is this doable? I doubt I will end up burning out, but it is possible. Does it help that I enjoy the classes I am taking? Anyone have any worse schedules that can make me feel better! High school used to be 6am-3:30pm, which is 9 and a half hours. Thanks in advance. It all depends on where you live: does the situation there always have crazy traffic jam everywhere and with unpredictable time? And how about the transportation infrastructure? Is it accommodative, or unhuman? If your answer is yes, commuting surely would burn you out, waste your time and a lot of your energy. While you can save some time (if you decide not to commuting) for other fun things in your life, plus time to rest and relax.
College is supposed to be more enjoyable than what you describe. At least it used to be. If you are having problems you should share them with someone before you make a decision to commute or drop out. Sometimes it takes a while to adjust.
It is easily doable, if you have the finances available to buy the fuel.
Sounds like an 8 to 5 job, like umpteen million people do everyday......
