How to make a pace transit card for high school student and is it cheaper?

-so i am in high school and i have to travel on bus everyday. that means that i have to spent 2 dollars everyday. i heard that if i get qualified for the student pace card then its a lot cheaper. is that right? if that is, then how do i do it? i have no idea how the bus system works!!! and if there are any other options for saving ma money, i would really appreciate that. thank you!! by the way, i am 17 so i can't go to take a driver's test.
